The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

It’s 1973, and things are pretty good in the Texan town of Gilbert. Businesses are doing well, the high school football team is winning, the Boy Scouts are earning badge after badge. Oh, and the brothel on its outskirts is servicing more guests than ever. From Musoc, the club behind last year’s Reefer Madness and The Sinnerman comes The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, the (somewhat) true account of the Chicken Ranch, the brothel that was brought to its knees by the meddling of a crusading television personality. How will the town cope when the forces of the outside world invade? What will Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd do when faced with demands to shutter the ranch? And just when will Mona and the Sheriff revisit that night they spent together some two decades earlier?

Filled with laughs, great music, and a seriously talented 40-strong cast from campus and beyond, have your eyeballs dazzled and eardrums lovingly caressed by the inhabitants of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Musoc’s Orientation 2011 musical.
